Production rehearsal is in full swing. Upon entering the senior building today there were students singing, dancing, making posters, learning lines and practising using their 'theatre voice'. Every two years, there is always excitement around the production and things are not any different with the upcoming Once Upon A Time.
Performing Arts is an essential part of the school's curriculum. It never ceases to amaze me that within the Arts there are always students who are so natural when it comes to performing. Quite often, these students are predominately quiet by nature and usually need to be encouraged to participate in general class discussions and interactions. However, in a different environment such as Performing Arts, they simply shine and have the opportunity to show their talent. This is one reason why the specialist program is highly valued at TPPS, it provides a different platform for individuals to succeed.
Instead of outlining the many reasons how Performing Arts is beneficial, I have a link below to an article that explains it all so well.
Also, to learn more about Once Upon A Time, please have a look at the dedicated website (link below). We would dearly like as many people to attend as possible. A large audience will no doubt increase the positive experience that it will be for all students. This includes those who are confident performers and those who will find the experience a challenge. A wonderful experience for all!
